The Cristo Rey Orlando Academic Program prepares students to achieve academic excellence through rigorous, college-preparatory coursework and a supportive learning environment rooted in high expectations and individualized support.

We believe in a collaborative approach to teaching and learning, where faculty and students grow together through strong relationships, open communication, and shared accountability. At Cristo Rey Orlando, students are both challenged and supported during the daily scheduled times, through our Crown Scholar Hub intervention and Crown Enrichment program. These programs provide instructor-led tailored tutoring and targeted academic assistance to meet each student's unique learning needs.

In addition to academic rigor, students engage in leadership courses that provide exposure to college and career pathways, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to navigate both higher education and the workforce with confidence.

Our commitment to academic excellence extends to our teachers, who participate in ongoing professional development focused on their individual growth. This includes training on delivering engaging, interactive, bell-to-bell instruction that promotes active student learning.
Through the development of a scholarly identity and a cohesive formational experience grounded in academic rigor, career readiness, and the foundation of a spiritual formation, Cristo Rey Orlando students will be prepared to persevere, thrive in college, and become intellectually competent graduates.

Our teachers are committed to a bell-to-bell instructional model, ensuring that every minute of the school day is purposeful, engaging, and rooted in high expectations. Rigorous plans and rigorous lessons are delivered that are responsive to student needs, incorporating both enrichment opportunities for advanced learners and intervention support for students who require additional guidance. Whether through small group instruction, targeted support during Crown Scholar Hub, or dynamic classroom activities, our teachers make learning accessible and meaningful for all students.

Academic Supports

Our academic program is designed to prepare students for the demands of college-level coursework while remaining student-centered and responsive to individual learning needs. We offer multiple layers of academic support and intervention to ensure all students can succeed.

Classroom instruction is structured around a tiered support system:

  • Tier 1: High-quality, grade-level instruction provided to all students.
  • Tier 2: Targeted small group support for students who need additional help with specific skills or concepts.
  • Tier 3: Intensive, individualized interventions tailored to students with more significant learning needs.

In addition to in-class supports, we offer dedicated programs to further enhance student achievement:

  • Crown Scholar Hub – A daily 40-minute period built into the school day for all students, focused on academic support and intervention to strengthen understanding and improve performance.
  • Crown Scholar Enrichment – A daily 25-minute tutoring and enrichment period designed to challenge students beyond grade-level standards and deepen their learning.
  • Math Coach Support – A dedicated math coach works with students 2–3 times per week, providing one-on-one support and tutoring to help build foundational math skills and confidence.

These supports ensure that every student receives the instruction and attention they need to thrive academically and be well-prepared for college and beyond.
