Admissions Process

Admission decisions are based on a review of the whole student. We consider the student’s academic history, motivation, maturity, readiness for the Corporate Work Study Program, and alignment with the mission of Cristo Rey Orlando.

The Admissions Committee reviews:

• 6th to current grade report cards 
• Academic progress
• Attendance
• Conduct
• Teacher recommendations
• Standardized testing or assessment information
• The student’s writing sample (link here)
• The student interview

Students do not need to be perfect applicants. We look for students who are motivated, willing to grow, and prepared to make a strong commitment to their education.

Applicants must meet the age and grade requirements established by Cristo Rey Orlando High School and the Corporate Work Study Program.

Because students participate in professional work experiences, students must be 14 years of age before the student is able to begin working off campus.

Families with questions regarding age eligibility should contact the Admissions Team before submitting an application.

Cristo Rey schools are designed to serve students whose families demonstrate financial need.

Families are required to submit household income and financial documentation as part of the admissions process. This information helps the school determine eligibility and establish an affordable family tuition contribution.

Submitting financial information does not automatically determine whether a student will be accepted. The information is reviewed confidentially as part of the school’s mission and financial verification process.

Household eligibility is based on factors that include:

• Total household income
• Household size
• Federal income documentation
• Other sources of financial support
• Scholarship eligibility
• Individual family circumstances

Because every family’s situation is different, families are encouraged to apply even when they are uncertain whether they meet the income guidelines.

Participation in the Corporate Work Study Program is a required part of the Cristo Rey educational model.

Students must be prepared to:

• Work one school day each week
• Complete required work-readiness training
• Follow workplace dress and conduct standards
• Arrive on time and maintain strong attendance
• Accept coaching and feedback
• Complete required employment and eligibility documentation
• Represent Cristo Rey Orlando positively in the workplace

Families must support the student’s participation and help ensure that all Corporate Work Study requirements are completed on time.

A complete application includes:

• Submitting an online application
• Student and family information
• Previous and current academic records
• Attendance and conduct records
• Student Writing Sample
• Student birth certificate
• IEP or 504 Plan, when applicable
• Household income documentation
• Student interview
• Additional records requested by the Admissions Team

An application is not considered complete until all required items have been submitted.
