Who We Are
Cristo Rey Orlando High School is located in Orlando, FL, and will be part of the national Cristo Rey Network. The school will open its doors to its inaugural freshmen class in the fall of 2025. Like all Cristo Rey schools, it will be a Catholic, college preparatory high school for students of all faiths from families of limited financial means. The school will be co-educational and will serve students of diverse backgrounds. We will help our students grow intellectually, academically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and morally. Our aspiration is that all our students graduate from high school and college and become the future leaders in our churches, institutions, businesses, nonprofits, and the community at large.

Who You Are
You are a dedicated IT Manager/Associate Director of Information Technology who is passionate about advancing IT excellence and committed to aligning technology solutions with our school’s mission. This role is essential in shaping the school’s technology strategy during its critical first three years, addressing both academic and operational needs as the institution grows from startup to expansion. The IT Manager will play a key role in fostering a safe, supportive environment that empowers students, staff, and the entire school community to thrive. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and ready to take on diverse responsibilities, ensuring that the school’s technological needs are seamlessly met in classrooms and across all areas of operation.
This Role
Schoolwide Technology Needs
- Monitoring Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems (e.g., access points, network switches, and backups) to ensure operational continuity and minimize downtime.
- Digital Safety: Implement cybersecurity protocols, manage security updates, and provide digital citizenship training to protect student data and encourage responsible use.
- Career-Ready Skills: Collaborate with academic teams to integrate industry-standard tools into the curriculum, equipping students with essential skills for college and careers.
- E-Learning and Faith Formation: Leverage digital platforms and interactive tools to enhance educational outcomes and support spiritual development.
- Equitable Access: Ensure all students have equal access to necessary technology and resources, addressing the digital divide and enhancing learning opportunities.
- Faculty and Staff Development: Provide professional training to empower staff in utilizing technology effectively for teaching, administrative tasks, and operations.
- Campus Safety and Transparency: Oversee systems and tools that ensure a safe, secure, and transparent environment, supporting campus safety and communication.
- Records Retention and Policy Creation: Provide support for records retention processes and help create technology-related policies aligned with compliance standards and best practices.
Academic Department Support
- Classroom Technology: Deliver timely, consistent support to ensure classroom technology seamlessly integrates into instruction and enhances learning.
- Student Assessments: Manage the technological infrastructure for testing, ensuring reliable systems and compliance with standards.
- User Support: Address technology needs for students and teachers, troubleshoot issues, and ensure access to necessary tools.
- Student Information System: Lead training and administration of PowerSchool, overseeing implementation, user management, and ongoing support.
- Academic and Safety Software: Implement and maintain platforms like Content Keeper and Turnitin to support academic integrity and digital safety.
- Visitor Management: Maintain the Raptor system to ensure secure campus access.
- Website and Communication: Oversee website updates, ensuring accurate and timely communication with stakeholders.
- Google Workspace: Manage Google Workspace and administrative tools like Google Console to align with school needs.
- Teacher Training: Support training initiatives, such as FERPA compliance and child protection protocols.
- Technology Inventory: Oversee renewals, warranties, insurance, and management of all school technology assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT management, ideally in an educational setting (preferred).
- A broad skill set in IT, including network management, system administration, and troubleshooting for both academic and operational technology.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to support a wide variety of devices, including laptops, classroom technology, and network systems.
- Ability to handle both strategic and tactical tasks, including planning, implementing, and maintaining technology systems while responding to immediate needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively work with faculty, staff, and students, both technical and non-technical.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a growing, changing environment.
- Experience in an educational environment is preferred.
- Ability to support both staff and students in their use of technology for educational and operational purposes
- Strong experience in managing learning systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Google Workspace, classroom technologies) and administrative tools.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience with managing learning management systems (LMS) and student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool).
- Experience in implementing digital safety and cybersecurity protocols and fostering digital citizenship in students.
- Experience in training staff on both technology use and compliance with educational policies (FERPA, child safety).
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, particularly for managing laptops and classroom technology.
- Familiarity with school safety technology such as visitor management systems, surveillance cameras, and emergency communication platforms.
Salary
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Salary range is $65,000 - $75,000 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, long-term disability insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% employer matching contribution.
